Take advantage of that fully-equipped kitchen in your Roomzzz apartment (that’s why you chose an aparthotel, right?) and rustle up this spicy steak dinner. Created by MasterChef’s Chris Hale, it’s unbelievably quick and ludicrously tasty!

Serves 1 (just multiply to serve more!)

Prep: 2 minutes

Cook: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 baking potato
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 sirloin steak
  • 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 75g grated cheddar
  • 2tbsp soured cream
  • 20g jalapenos chopped
  • A handful of watercress

Method:

1. Microwave the potato until it’s cooked through.

2. Meanwhile, warm the oil in a frying pan, on a medium to high heat. Season both sides of the steak with the Cajun spice and fry on either side for 3-5 minutes. Set aside and rest.

3. Mix the cheese, soured cream and jalapenos together in a bowl and microwave for a minute and a half.

4. Stir and spoon on to the potato and steak. Scatter a handful of watercress over to serve.
