Charitable Initiatives

At Roomzzz we are passionate about giving back to society. Our charitable organisation – the Parklane Foundation – is the channel through which we help the most vulnerable people in the communities we are part of, through online donations, donations made in our hotels and employee payroll giving. We also donate room nights at our hotels and sponsor charitable events. You can read more here but let’s give you a brief rundown of the regular charity initiatives we get involved in.

Roomzzz Charity Week

Roomzzz Aparthotels launched its first-ever Roomzzz Charity Week in 2023, bringing teams together across our aparthotels to deliver creative fundraising initiatives in support of the Parklane Foundation. The inaugural year saw an entire night’s revenue donated, contributing to a total of £38,240 raised for Dementia UK, Alzheimer’s Society and Leeds Hospitals Charity.

Building on this success, Roomzzz Charity Week 2024 raised an impressive £45,000, with another full night of revenue donated. This helped the Parklane Foundation reach a combined fundraising total of £80,000, supporting charities focused on Homelessness (Simon on the Streets, St George’s Crypt and Crisis).

In 2025, our biggest year to date, Roomzzz Aparthotels raised £56,173, contributing towards an overall total of £90,000 for three mental health charities (Getting Clean, Recovery Runners and Young Minds) supported by the Parklane Foundation. Thanks to the generosity of our guests, clients and teams, these funds made a meaningful difference to organisations driving positive change in mental health support.

Charities of the Year

Each year, the Parklane Foundation selects charities to receive all fundraising donations raised across the Roomzzz group.

In 2026, Roomzzz Aparthotels is proud to continue supporting the Parklane Foundation as it focuses on disability and prosthetics, partnering with Koalaa as its Charity Partner of the Year.

Throughout the year, fundraising will support Koalaa’s work both in the UK and overseas, helping to expand access to innovative prosthetic solutions and support individuals living with limb difference. Funds will be split equally between domestic and international projects, ensuring impact at home while also supporting communities around the world where access to prosthetic care is limited.

More information about the Parklane Foundation’s 2026 partnership and the projects being supported can be found via the Parklane Foundation website.
Together, with the support of our guests, partners and teams, we’re proud to help people move forward – without limits.

CRISIS

CRISIS is a UK charity for people experiencing homelessness, they offer year-round services in 12 locations around the country.
Our London Stratford hotel supports CRISIS ever year by providing free rooms to their staff and volunteers for their winter homeless campaign.

NHS Trust

These trusts are organisational units within the NHS and have thousands of staff members. At the peak of the COVID-19 restrictions Roomzzz offered 2,500 complimentary room nights to the NHS Trust to show our support.

This was to acknowledge our appreciation for their hard work and to make isolation from their families a little easier, while also ensuring they were fully rested between shifts.

Candlelighters

This is a charity helping families with children who are facing cancer. Founded in 1976, Candlelighters brings light to families by providing them with emotional, practical and financial support, while also bringing hope to them when all seems lost. They are also investing in vital research to improve the outcomes and lives of children with cancer.

With many families travelling all across Yorkshire for treatments, and often with nowhere to stay overnight, Roomzzz has allocated 100 complimentary room nights so parents and families of these children can be close and rested while they undergo treatment, saving on stress and costs at such a difficult time.

Social and Environmental Responsibilities

In addition to our charity projects, at Roomzzz we are passionately committed to our responsibility to be a sustainable, fair and totally inclusive business, so we do more than the existing ESG laws and regulations ask of us.

Continually improving the environmental performance of Roomzzz is at the heart of our business strategy. We are reducing our environmental impact by promoting a Reduce, Reuse and Recycle policy. This involves reducing waste, using more sustainable materials and withdrawing the need for single-use plastics.

In December 2020 we introduced wooden room keycards at all our locations, to replace plastic ones. These cards are FSC-approved and work exactly the same as the plastic cards, but are more sustainable. In March 2021, we also enlisted Biffa as a commercial partner to provide a more carbon-neutral waste manage solution. This has introduced a more professional and pro-active approach to waste and recycling and helped us to enforce our Reduce, Reuse and Recycle initiative.

Also, at our two newest developments in London Stratford and York, we have installed electric vehicle charging points for customers. This will continue at all future developments and helps promote emission-free motoring, reduces the use of fossil fuels and offers the customers cheaper fuel costs too.
