Angelica, which is situated at the top of Trinity shopping centre, is a special experience in both its setting and its range of superb champagnes. You can pay anything up to £500 if you want to, but you don’t have to enjoy a top night on the terrace.

A stone’s throw from the train station, The Decanter is slightly different to the other champagne bars in Leeds. It makes a point of not stocking the household-name brands like Moët and instead offers some of the most luxurious champagnes in the world. Namely, a bubbly that was favoured by Sir Winston Churchill and, aptly, it’s named after him: Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill.

Epernay is a real local favourite for a champagne celebration. You won’t be disappointed, especially if you peruse their champagne cocktail menu. Of course, everyone knows you can’t really do Harvey Nicks on the cheap, but you can go for a rather reasonable champagne afternoon tea here for just £24.50 per person.
