Jesmond Dene

Take a stroll through Jesmond Dene, along the Ouseburn River, and enjoy a walk in the urban countryside. As well as gorgeous greenery throughout this 1-mile walk, there’s also a pets corner where you’ll find pot-bellied pigs, goats, sheep, and alpacas. It takes around 90 minutes to complete but if you do fancy a break along the way, there’s a coffee shop where you can enjoy a refreshment.

The Baltic

The Baltic is the imposing building on the Gateshead side of the River Tyne. Cross the Millennium Bridge and enter this centre of contemporary art to see installations from artists such as Anish Kapoor, Antony Gormley, and Jenny Holzer.  It’s free to visit and is open daily meaning whenever you visit Roomzzz Newcastle, The Baltic is waiting for you.

Blyth Beach

Head 30 minutes out of the city centre to the gorgeous beach location of Blyth. Here you’ll find a long, wide, stretch of sandy beach which is backed by sand dunes. It’s a haven for wildlife here and that’s why Blyth is a designated area of Special Nature Conservation. In the winter months, the beach provides many fishing opportunities and in the summer, the beach is a prime spot for jet-skiing and water sports. You’ll find a café, toilets, and a children’s play area here, plus beach hut rentals are the perfect spot to rent out when the sun is shining.
