The best date night restaurants in Leeds Categories City guides Length 3 min read Author Roomzzz 8 Feb '16 Share Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share via email If you’ve come to Leeds to inspire your taste buds, then you’ve come to the right place. The city has long been a melting pot of different cultures, and this is apparent in its ever growing list of restaurants. Whether you’re looking for fine-dining Thai cuisine, or a mouth-watering steak, your new favourite restaurant has a table with your name written all over it. Here’s our pick of the best date night restaurants the city has to offer: Chaophraya Sitting pretty just a stone’s throw away from Roomzzz is the ever-popular Chaophraya. Spread out over two floors, this opulent restaurant serves up some of the best Thai cuisine you’re likely to find outside of Bangkok. Highlights include Steamed Sea Bass, Weeping Tiger and Prawn Tom Yum soup. After your meal you can enjoy one of their premium cocktails in the equally stunning Palm Sugar Lounge. Bibis Italianissimo Having celebrated 40 years of business back in 2014, Bibis is something of a Leeds institution, and sets the standard as far as Italian fine dining is concerned. The décor is reminiscent of old school Hollywood glamour, and if The Great Gatsby surroundings don’t get you, then the hearty menu and fine wines will. No visit is complete without a drink in their award winning cocktail bar, where the perfectly groomed mixologists can shake up a mean Bellini. Stockdales of Yorkshire Already famous for its melt-in-the-mouth, locally sourced Wagyu beef, Stockdale’s opened up its doors last September and hasn’t looked back since. Head down stairs where can marvel the many cuts of beef showcased in their glass display, and enjoy your Josper Grill cooked steak with to die for sides, including beef dripping chips and bacon mash. Little Tokyo Small, yet perfectly formed, Little Tokyo has never been short of customers and serves up arguably the best Japanese food you’ll find in the city. The dimly lit interior lends itself perfectly to an intimate night for two, and the popular Bento Box Meals are catered well towards vegans, as well as lovers of seafood and meat. The Foundry Tucked away in Saw Mill Yard, The Foundry is a one of the most romantic restaurants you’ll find, and one of Leeds best kept secrets. Serving British classics with their own unique spin, the menu includes the House Speciality côte de boeuf and griddled king scallops. Book early for a weekend table to ensure you don’t miss out. Kendell’s Bistro This beautiful and authentic French bistro is situated just by The West Yorkshire Playhouse and is a popular spot with theatre goers. Duck confit with Toulouse sausage and a venison rack with bitter chocolate Sauce are just two of the menus many delights. Kendell’s also do a fantastic pre-theatre fixed menu, as well as an award winning a-la-carte. Pintura Opening in March 2015, being the new kid on the block didn’t stop Pintura from becoming the busiest tapas joint in town. Set over three floors, the interior is a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary Spain, just like its menu of delicious Basque inspired dishes. As well as delivering tapas which deviates from the norm, Pintura has a delightful gin bar downstairs which offers over 80 varieties of the increasingly popular tipple.
